Welcome to America and the World…

a reading comprehension curriculum catering to all learning styles, from students struggling with the basics to those craving advanced critical thinking exercises. Our material keeps your students engaged in a variety of stimulating and fun activities by using history to teach reading and writing skills.

Each unit is presented with video staging of the historical lesson, followed by a transcript of the video to provide the learner with an audio read of the text. We also offer a variety of activities to reinforce literacy skills.

Teacher and student lesson plans can be customized to align with regular and special education objectives. This saves the teacher time when a curricular modification is needed and she doesn't have the time to provide it.

Our curriculum also fosters critical thinking skills. This is all the rage in education, but here are a few examples of what it actually means:

  • It means understanding why the United States is a constitutional republic, and why the word "democracy" does not appear once in the Declaration of Independence or the U.S. Constitution.
  • It means capturing the aching sorrow of Abraham Lincoln's second inaugural address, and how its absence after his assassination delayed civil rights for a century.
  • It means recreating the squalor of World War I trench warfare to know why appeasement of Nazi Germany reigned supreme in the 1930s.
  • It means understanding how deflation destroyed American wealth during the Depression and profoundly changed the global economic order after World War II.
